A block that plays sounds backwards
I don't understand what you mean by reverse again. If you make a copy of the sound, then you have one copy that is forward, and one that is backward. What most of you don't understand is that when you use the reverse tool, you have to reverse it again. If you don't want that, then this block is necessary.

You are able to reverse a sound again if you reversed it once. If you click the reverse button and it's already reversed, the sound will go back to it's default state.I don't understand what you mean by reverse again. Well, isn't that why a user suggested this block? So that you don't have to switch sounds at all on the sounds section?Yes… So I don't get your original statement. I would think it much easier to copy the sound and edit it right there than try and mess around with the blocks, especially when you have to play it over and over to get the segment you want reversed just right…Well, isn't that why a user suggested this block? But my point was the user probably suggested that block so that he/she wouldn't need to duplicate the sound, and then reverse that duplicated sound!I would think it much easier to copy the sound and edit it right there than try and mess around with the blocks, especially when you have to play it over and over to get the segment you want reversed just right…Well, isn't that why a user suggested this block? Besides, it takes up so much space. We don't need a sound list full of sounds and then another list of sounds that are reverted ones.
Isn't that what the other user said?
Dangit, 60 second rule. I did nothing to you.

That is what the other user said, and I responded accordingly.
I understand your point, but you aren't responding to mine.
The way reversing segments of sounds in the block case works like this:
The user puts in time segments, and tells the script to play that segment backwards.
If it isn't exactly right, then they have to try again, and again until they get it right.
Using the sound editor, they can easily select a time segment to copy and reverse.
If the user created this suggestion to make it “easier” then this would not be the solution.
Although it saves precious space only for projects that have a lot of sounds that they want to reverse, it is, in my view, a much harder tool to use than the simple sound editor.

true. Now that you mention that. What most of you don't understand is that when you use the reverse tool, you have to reverse it again. If you don't want that, then this block is necessary.I SUPPORT!

Just copy the sound, and have a reversed sound and a normal sound. What most of you don't understand is that when you use the reverse tool, you have to reverse it again. If you don't want that, then this block is necessary.
This will make it so that the whole sound will be reversed, then there would be no reversing only parts of it. Did you think about that?
No support, just use the reverse feature, we don't need a block for everything, no offense.

Yes, but, if you plan on making games that take a lot of space, you need all the spare storage you can get. So having let's say a 5-10 minute background song, that could take up chunk of the overall storage. Having a block would be way more convenient.Just copy the sound, and have a reversed sound and a normal sound. What most of you don't understand is that when you use the reverse tool, you have to reverse it again. Yeah, and besides, wasn't this block suggested to prevent us from doing the alternative you gave?Yes, but, if you plan on making games that take a lot of space, you need all the spare storage you can get.Just copy the sound, and have a reversed sound and a normal sound. What I mean by alternative is the idea that you just duplicate a sound and reverse the duplicate.I guess.Yeah, and besides, wasn't this block suggested to prevent us from doing the alternative you gave?Yes, but, if you plan on making games that take a lot of space, you need all the spare storage you can get.Just copy the sound, and have a reversed sound and a normal sound. Removing the tool is a bad idea. If you only want to reverse part of the audio you can do that with the tool, however not without it.Support times infinity. The ST will remove the reverse tool and add that block to replace it. DID ANYONE THINK ABOUT THAT BEFORE SAYING NO SUPPORT?! Just use the reverse tool in the sound editor.
No support.
How do you select that area?Yes. There could be this:The real question is, did you think before saying support? This will make it so that the whole sound will be reversed, then there would be no reversing only parts of it. Did you think about that?Support times infinity. The ST will remove the reverse tool and add that block to replace it. DID ANYONE THINK ABOUT THAT BEFORE SAYING NO SUPPORT?! Just use the reverse tool in the sound editor.
No support.play sound [meow v] backwards for [selected area v] :: sound // also includes all sound, seconds (turns into a number input) and select lines.Did you even think that I was going to add blocks to remove the reverse tool?
Overall I'm neutral on this. On one hand it could let some huge projects add a bit more before reaching the data limit, on the other hand most of this sounds like it is coming from someone who being to lazy to create two sounds, one of them reversed who is also nowhere near the data limit. Besides how often do games you make go near the data limit?

It does?I know, but adding a block to play sounds backwards makes it easier. No support, just copy the sound clip and use the reverse tool.
I thought pressing the drop down in the sound editor was easy?
I think it's best not to be lazy and work for the reverse track
Besides, if the block reversed sounds, it would reverse the whole sound, while with the reverse tool in the sound editor, you can reverse only certain parts if you want to. A block would be more limiting.

I don't think pressing “select all” and “reverse” is any higher level of difficulty..I know, but adding a block to play sounds backwards makes it easier. No support, just copy the sound clip and use the reverse tool.

We could also have other blocks like pitch and filtering – I mean, I don't want the sound editor to turn into Audacity, but there has to be a middle ground Support for a speed effect in 3.0's new sound effect block, that plays backwards if it is negative. That would let you reverse sounds but also do a lot more.set [speed v] effect to (-1) :: sound
As for the idea in question, alone, no support. Any real functionality is virtually redundant, as for the “have to reverse it again” argument stated above,
why don't we just have 1 original sound and 1 reversed sound?
Also, no, sounds don't take up much space if they're compressed .WAV files, even if the original file you upload it uncompressed, scratch will compress it for you, I've shown this here
