Btw Temporary Replacement Title has been NFE for a very long time and still is.

Please stay on topic, everybody. If we veer off topic, this thread is probably going to get closed (like what happened with some of the other similar threads), and that really makes this issue more difficult to resolve.
I'm fine with the edits. Does anybody else have an opinion on this?
Personally, I think that a ban on political projects from the Front Page may be too general. We can't stop them from getting top loved, can we? Also, can we stop Front Page Curators from curating a controversial project? This still expresses their views, not Scratch's, right?We're all agreed on these edits?
But I don't think that the Scratch Team should put political projects on the Front Page. Because I know that I said we should find a balance between the two sides of this issue, I'm going to attempt at one. Although I would prefer if the Scratch Team was completely neutral, I don't think insisting on your way instead of compromising is a good way to resolve an issue. So, here's what I think may be helpful:
- The Scratch Team refrains from putting anything political or remotely controversial on the Front Page. I don't think this should apply to educational projects about a religious holiday, so long as that project only teaches, and doesn't try to convince others that this custom is better than their customs or something or that they should convert to that religion.
- The Scratch Team refrains from changing their profile picture or forum signatures to express a political stance.
- The Scratch Team can, if they would like, share their political views in their about me/WIWO, but should make it clear that these are personal beliefs and not everybody has to share them. Similarly, they can express their political views in comments, but should not attempt to convince others of these views.
- The Scratch Team refrains from following/curating political studios, but can leave supportive comments in these studios.
- The Scratch Team can share political projects, so long as they express that these are just their personal views and by no means are the only valid viewpoint, and do not try to convince others of these views. Furthermore, these should be NFEd to prevent being top loved/top remixed and appearing on the Front Page.
- Other users can express themselves in whatever appropriate and respectful way they so choose. Non Scratch Team-made political projects can be top loved or curated, but the Scratch Team should refrain from putting these on the Front Page themselves.
- The Scratch Team continues to delete all comments that are disrespectful in any way.
This way, the Scratch Team can express themselves through comments, projects, and their bios on their profile. However, users who do not support a particular position held by a Scratch Team member will not really be exposed to this idea as a Scratch policy. The Scratch Team will not have to hide their political positions, but they won't be as prevalent and it will be clear to everybody that these are just personal stances and by no means the only valid stance.
I myself don't really think this is perfect. However, I don't think this issue can be resolved in any way other than compromise, at which this was my attempt. So, what does everybody else think of this?
I'm fine with the edits. Does anybody else have an opinion on this?

My opinion is it's not useful arguing with the Scratch team after ~4 topics about it have just been closed.

My opinion is it's not useful arguing with the Scratch team after ~4 topics about it have just been closed.Just because they've had their say, doesn't mean it's over. Plus, now we have a specific list of what this suggestion would entail.

If they feel the need to close this thread, fine. I would really hope not, because I really don't think the issue has been resolved. I'm hoping that if we present them with a solution that doesn't involve banning them from making any political statement, which was rejected already, they'll consider it. That's why we're trying to find a compromise that people on both sides of this issue can support.

Please let's stay on topic. This thread is not the same as the other ones, in that it has a much more specific suggestion that does not entail the Scratch Team completely giving up their right to freedom of expression. Hopefully this suggestion will be treated as different than the others and reviewed by the Scratch Team. But, if we go off topic, standard precedent is to close it, and I don't want to see this closed without a resolution.

From what I can see, the Scratch Team doesn't seem enamored with these suggestions.They don't seem pleased that most of the Scratch forum community wants these restrictions. I doubt this suggestion will ever be implemented. The scary user name suggestion has been up for ages with almost 100% support. It is yet to be implemented.

Based on the way this topic is framed, it seems like there is a confusion with likening LGBTQ+ as a political stance, political party, or ruling government group. It isn't. LGBTQ+ is a collective acronym used to help describe a certain subset of people. More importantly, LGBTQ+ people can exist on any side of any political spectrum, right or left, up or down, forwards or backwards - if an LGBTQ+ person can support any side of a political spectrum, then, well, you can't really call LGBTQ+ political. Same can be said of other affiliation, like religious or ethnic affiliation.
The featuring of the “Pride Month” project isn't a political stance, it's just one that welcomes and supports our LGBTQ+ members. Same goes when we feature a project celebrating a holiday, an event, a project type (anyone remembers the days of games vs animations?), etc. Our Featured Project section is not only a reflection of diversity of projects, but of our community members as well.
Hey, we want to make the Scratch website welcoming for everyone, LGBTQ+ included. While we remove the hate when we come across it, it definitely would help if you flag the hate stuff down instead of letting the hate fester. Same idea goes for hate in general on other projects. Moderation is like being part guard (we take action when we come across a case where it is needed), but also like being part firemen - firemen don't go actively seeking out fires (they are often doing other important tasks like maintaining equipment or reviewing fire safety plans), someone has to report the fire so the firemen know that there is something that needs more immediate attention as well as where to go.
If there was a time where the Scratch Team did anything that seemed like a public political stance, it was the protest done against PIPA/SOPA back in 2012. But there's lack of any discussion about this at all here. Much like one of the threads I closed recently, I still get the impression that this topic isn't really so much a suggestion about political statements, so I'm going to close/reject this thread, too.
