Introduction

There are two different types of emojis, Forum Emojis and Comment Emojis. You can read more about the history of Emojis on the Scratch Wiki page, here. Also on that page is a link to the area where you may learn how to post Wiki Emojis.

When to use Emojis

Emojis are a great way to signal your feeling and give tone to your writing, and as you can see we are even using them in this guide! Emojis are used all the time to symbolize a mood which a comment may not otherwise display. The Scratch Team has recently added in many new Emojis and it may be difficult to keep track of them all. Luckily, this guide will present to all of the new Emojis! Enjoy!

When not to use Emojis

Emojis should not be used to spam comments or forums, and will likely end up with the offending post/comment being removed. Never use them for anything which breaks the community guidelines either.


These images work on the Scratch forums, and are given by simple text commands.

Comment Emojis

These Emojis work when you type them into the comment box of a profile, project or studio! Here are the commands for each corresponding image. You can also use these emojis on the forums by using the codes that are in [img] tags.

Nice guide! I've requested for it to be stickied for more visibility. Although there is a wiki page for it, it's not that well-known and I'm sure this would decrease the amount of questions that are asked about this.

Right click the emoji, click copy image address, then put it between the [IMG]and[/IMG] tags like a normal image. Viola!

I agree with paddle. You should change it so it says way too cute, in my opinion.
