Please help test uploads to beta from Scratch 1.4!
I was wondering how that would work. So, you can just upload from the old program?
Yeah! And you don't need to do anything with a servers.txt file. After the release, beta.scratch.mit.edu will become scratch.mit.edu - so Scratch 1.4 will upload to it automatically.
Thanks again to everyone who has helped test this out!

It worked! I think my computer automatically unzipped the file, b/c it went straight to text edit.

It worked for me! I was able to share “Spirit Flute” successfully on the 2.0 site. It actually went a lot faster too.

Please help test uploads to beta from Scratch 1.4!
Oh, cool! I was just thinking about continuing working on my huge, laggy 1.4 project in 2.0 because it's, you know, run online. Will try this out this afternoon!

Will the 1.4 editor with servers.txt for beta.scratch.mit.edu still upload to 2.0 when it becomes scratch.mit.edu ?

Don't know. It's probably best to just delete it then. Will the 1.4 editor with servers.txt for beta.scratch.mit.edu still upload to 2.0 when it becomes scratch.mit.edu ?

The day that Scratch 2.0 goes live, it will replace the current scratch.mit.edu website. That means that it needs to accept projects shared from Scratch 1.4. We want to test this to make sure it works well before release day, so we need your help!
I did it and it worked!

Please help test uploads to beta from Scratch 1.4!
Aww nuts, didn't work.
Luckily, I remember exactly how it all went down…
So I clicked on the download link, and I ignorantly did not notice a servers.txt.zip file. Instead, I somehow also downloaded the servers.txt file directly without the need to unzip the file. (You know, the one I didn't notice.) I thought it would work, because, you know, it's the same file, right? Anyway, it took me a while, (curse my ignorance!) but I finally found the Scratch.image file. I just put the servers.txt file right beneath it, and booted up Scratch 1.4. (Was I supposed to have it open the whole time? You said in the instructions to restart it. I thought this would work anyway.) I opened my game, (Gizmos 3) and sent it to the website as normal. The one thing I did was change the name of the project in the upload field to “Gizmos 3: The Beta!”
The loading bar seemed to be stuck in one position, and eventually I just cancelled out of it.
In the event that you can't find the bug, it's possible that I just didn't give it enough time, as it's a rather large project.
UPDATE: I tried uploading it to the old, 1.4 website after removing the servers.txt file from the directory that the Scratch.image file is found in, and it uploaded to the 2.0 site. o_0 (Also, I gave it fifteen minutes to upload. Heh heh. Impatient me.)

Not sure - but I doubt it! The safest thing would be to delete your servers.txt file when we release 2.0, since you won't need it.
