The negative of negative 1 is positive 1.

He means - -1, as in “minus negative 1” or “minus minus 1”, in other words, +1.

I don't personally mind it where it is. I can handle having to scroll to the bottom when I want to change it; signatures are not that important.

Considering the signature is at the bottom, for me it just makes sense that the button is also at the bottom.
