Use Google Fonts in Scratch 3.0
I have suggested something like this before, but I decided to make a new topic specifically about adding the fonts to Scratch 3.0. Plus, I couldn't find the old topic. :P
One of the most commonly suggested additions to Scratch is more fonts. The current amount of fonts that we have right now is just sad, and out of the six fonts we do have, only Helvetica and Scratch are really any good. This suggestion proposes to change that by adding Google Fonts to Scratch 3.0. This would give scratchers many, many more fonts to use, like Yatra One, Inconsolata, and Poppins.
But BookOwl, you say, wouldn't this put a lot of stain on the servers to store and serve all those fonts? Nope, because it would be Google's servers that would store and serve the fonts, not Scratch's.
But wouldn't this make the file size much larger? No, since Scratch would just request the font files from Google.
And for the final objection, wouldn't this be hard for the Scratch team to add? Actually, it would be quite simple to add to Scratch 3.0, since it is being made with JS and canvas, and it is pretty easy to add web fonts
Thank you for reading my suggestion, and please post any feedback you have.

Yes please! And wouldn't this also help with the current foreign language issue? (I don't use google fonts a lot, but it seems like they have most of the letters from other language alphabets.)

If you use a font that has the foreign letter, than it should work. Yes please! And wouldn't this also help with the current foreign language issue? (I don't use google fonts a lot, but it seems like they have most of the letters from other language alphabets.)

Yesss I need this •‿• I always have to go to Google Drawings and import them. Scratch needs more than 6 fonts as an option. It allows more uniqueness and creativity and seeing the same 6 fonts over and over is a bit tiring sometimes.

Especially when all but two of them are quite ugly. Yesss I need this •‿• I always have to go to Google Drawings and import them. Scratch needs more than 6 fonts as an option. It allows more uniqueness and creativity and seeing the same 6 fonts over and over is a bit tiring sometimes.

You did a very nice job presenting your argument. Is this just for the image editors, or could the fonts be used elsewhere, too? A text-rendering block might be nice, after all.

In a situation where one would like to add Roboto Slab to their project, what would they have to paste in/do to add it?

Considering the 300 clone limit, especially
I support this suggestion

This is mainly for the image editors, but if they did add any text-rendering blocks, I would be very happy if they would let us use these fonts in that too. You would go to the Font menu, just like you would now. In the bottom of the font selector, there would be a button that says “More Fonts”. That would then open up a dialog similar to the one that Google Docs uses for selecting a font from Google Fonts. After you select the font you want it would show up in the font selector just like the other fonts do. Or in other words, how you select the fonts in Google Docs, but with a Scratch style dialog. How would you get the fonts?

Support!
Here's an idea: there should be an option to add fonts to the drop down in the editor so you can easily use your most used fonts later.

Full support! This would be amazing, especially since I'm not a big fan of the Scratch fonts, but I love the Google ones.
It's also great how you've really thought this out and you have solutions for lots of issues that people come up with, instead of just throwing the idea out there.

Sooo much support. There's barely any fonts in the editor and this would be a great addition.
