Add postimage.org Or freeimagehosting.net As Image Hosts
I would like these two (either) websites to be possible image hosts for the forums, postimage.org, and freeimagehosting.net.
Why? Because they are generally “better” than the other image hosts we have now. Let's look at the commonly used image hosters:
Here's a list for postimage.org:
As you can see, both image hosting sites have basically the same benefits.
And to those who say “you can still upload inappropriate pictures”, then let's remove posting images altogether because people can upload inappropriate pictures on Tinypic and cubeupload.
So what do you guys think?
Why? Because they are generally “better” than the other image hosts we have now. Let's look at the commonly used image hosters:
tinypic.com - A good image hosting site, but it uses a LOT of ads, and it has that annoying thing every time where you have to type something in to host your image.Now, what are the benefits of the two sites proposed above?
imageshack.us - You need an account. Plus, you need to pay to use it -_-
photobucket.com - You need an account.
cubeupload.com - This isn't that bad. I personally use it a lot, and there are non-intrusive ads, but I heard that the servers may crash for a while which means you can't use it then
Here's a list for postimage.org:
And the benefits of freeimagehosting.net: •Non-intrusive ads
•Completely free (no account needed)
•What cannot be uploaded to Postimage.org servers:
-Copyrighted images if you don't own copyright for it
-Violence, racial intolerance, or advocate against any individual, group, or organization
-Any other images that might be considered illegal in USA or EU countries
•Even though there is an “adult / 18+” filter, I didn't find a way to search for pictures on this site (which minimizes searching up potentially inappropriate pictures). You probably need an account for that, but you don't need one, so who cares?
•No ads at all
•Completely free (no account required)
•which means that posting inappropriate pictures are not allowed. Regarding your content submissions, you agree that you will NOT submit any content or post any comments that:
-are adult oriented or offensive;
-infringes any trademark, copyright or other proprietary rights of any party;
-are unlawful, harmful, abusive, or defamatory;
-are to be used in unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or spam; and/or
-are illegal or in violation of any United States laws.
•You can't search for pictures (without an account, I think)
As you can see, both image hosting sites have basically the same benefits.

Why? Support
Idk about post image.org, as the fact that it HAS an 18+ filter is a no-no for me. However, I do support for the other one, as it sounds pretty neat.

I support, despite that if postimage.org is added, I will probably remain to use cubeupload.

Thanks for your suggestion! We definitely need to do something about finding more acceptable image hosts.
If there are other sites that you are aware of that you think would be a good fit for Scratch, please add them to this conversation.

I use cubeupload a lot and the servers are fine, but yeah, the current ones are things that go against the TOS, and Tinypic is horrid.
