Some Scratch Trends!
Hi there scratchers! :)
This topic is all about Scratch Trends.
Credit to @Bright-Idea's topic, i copy and pasted some of it.
That's it for now! if you have anymore questions/comments, let me know!
Keep scratching!
This topic is all about Scratch Trends.
Credit to @Bright-Idea's topic, i copy and pasted some of it.
1. What are Kumquats?
This is a kumquat:
Even though they don't look evil, @cheddergirl's siggy apparently got ‘Eaten’. her siggy is now curentlySadly, my forum signature was eaten by an evil kumquat.this really didn't happen. here's what really happened-
you see, Cheddar in 1.4 used to have a signature that was an image but it wouldn't work in 2.0. this is what her ziggy would look like if she didn't change it:Since they couldn't fix the image, cheddar just put “Sadly, my forum signature was eaten by an evil kumquat.”
Everything is better when you add a little cheddar, because when you have cheese your
life is at ease
2. Who's Kaj
Some people say he's a hacker!
Kaj was a normal user who wanted to get more views. They started being mean and threatened to destroy Scratch. They were soon banned. People sometimes pretend to be Kaj by writing it as part of their username. Kaj was not really a hacker, though. That's just a myth.
3. April Fools Pranks?
Every year, the Scratch Team comes up with a good idea for a Scratch prank. It's pretty much different every year.
This is a list of all the pranks.
4. People type “Hello, 60 second rule” randomly in their posts. Should I report it? What does it mean?
In order to prevent spam on the website, Scratch implemented a “60 second rule” (120 seconds for New Scratchers). This prevents makes users wait 60 seconds (or 120 seconds) before posting/commenting again. People write “Hello, 60 second rule” to pass the time and also to tell others of their ‘dilemma’. No, it's not spam and it's not reportable.
5. People type “Ninja'd” randomly in their posts. Should I report it? What does it mean?
If someone says the exact same thing you were going to say, seconds before you posted it, you just got ‘ninja’d'! No, it's not spam and it's not reportable.
6. People always type abbreviations, but I don't know what they mean. Help!
There are lots of abbreviations on Scratch. Here are just a few:
FNaF: Five Nights At Freddy's
AR: Art Request
WIWO: What I'm Working On
NT: New Topic
FPC: Front Page Curator
QaS: Questions About Scratch
CP: Copied Project
UT: Undertale
CG: Community Guidelines
MAP: Multiple Animator Project
F4F: Follow For Follow
RP: Roleplay
ST: Scratch Team
NS: News Scratcher
RT: Remix Tree
OP: Original Poster / Original Post
AMV: Animated Music Video
AT: Art Trade / Advanced Topics
PMV: Picture Music Video
FTFY: Fixed That For You.
Credit to The4thPixel for that last one.
That's it for now! if you have anymore questions/comments, let me know!
Keep scratching!

tw: war
on may 9th, in the great kumquat-signature war of 2013, many kumquats and signatures went into battle on the scratch forums. this war was prompted by the rumor that a signature contained various pictures of kumquat foods, which then escalated into a war between the evil party of kumquats (evil kumquats) and signatures. cheddargirl's signature was enlisted and was K.I.A. cheddargirl then made another signature to remind everybody of the tragedy of the great kumquat-signature war, and hope this would prevent another such conflict from happening. to this day, many scratchers honor the sad loss of their signature in copying cheddargirl's, and still many more adopt traditions they hope will prevent another war, such as hanging up old christmas/new year decorations and forming scripts in their signatures designed to try keep away any neo-evil kumquats. this practice has recently developed into less of an actual attempt to keep away any post-war evil kumquats and more of a way to honor the signatures lost in battle that faithful day.
but for real, cheddargirl's current signature was formed when she couldn't port her old 1.4 signature into 2.0 and decided to make the best of a bad situation.

Do you want to know what actually happened? Cheddar in 1.4 used to have a signature that was an image but it wouldn't work in 2.0. Since they couldn't fix the image, cheddar just put “Sadly, my forum signature was eaten by an evil kumquat.”.

Here it is…
Pretty easy. Just went into 1.x forums archive, uploaded image to CU and it worked fine.
The latest signature as of 1.4. (Note that I moved the image from Imgur to cubeupload, but I don't think that matters)

Yes, those kumquats get everyone! Hi there scratchers!
I used to not know what these where, and now i do. some people don't know what they are, so i'm telling you now.
This is a kumquat:
Even though they don't look evil, @cheddergirl's siggy apparently got ‘Eaten’. her siggy is now curentlySadly, my forum signature was eaten by an evil kumquat.I know what your thinking-
'Cheddergirl, in that photo of a kumquat, i don't see a mouth.
HOW DID UR SIGGY GET EATEN????'
you see, Cheddar in 1.4 used to have a signature that was an image but it wouldn't work in 2.0. this is what her ziggy would look like if she didn't change it:Since they couldn't fix the image, cheddar just put “Sadly, my forum signature was eaten by an evil kumquat.”. ever since @Cheddergirl's siggy got ‘eaten’, a large gang of kumquats keep attacking innocent users siggy's.
Everything is better when you add a little cheddar, because when you have cheese your
life is at ease
Some people, on the other hand, are prepared. they get strong, protective blocks to destroy kumquats trying to eat their signatures.
For more info, go to the scratch Wiki.
I hope this guide helped you.
