I had been working in a project related to translation of Scratch into Malayalam language. Though the po editor files are available in the scratch translation server(as blocks.po and editor.po), i was unable to implement the designed separate files as a single po file and use it in scratch 2. It would be glad if anyone out there can help me find a solution for this problem. Thank you.

I think you need to learn Malayalayalayalam first.

You can upload the file to both Scratch 2.0 files, and you should get the 100% matches pre-filled. Pootle will then also give you suggestions for similar strings.

The placeholder variables have been renamed, so a lot of strings will need restoring

As alternative to Pootle, you can also load the Scratch 1.4 translation into Virtaal and then translate Scratch 2.0 in there - it will show you similar translations from Scratch 1.4 just like Pootle.

English is the source language, it doesn't need translating. Just pick it from the language menu. Everything will be in English then except for projects that have content were created in other languages on purpose.
