So the 2.0 Vector style editor somewhat supports Bitmap; the problem arises when you have old text fonts and you can't add new Bitmap stuff. I propose using Vector AND Bitmap. Tjose who want to draw pixel by pixel can, whie you can still get that fresh, new Vector look and beautiful resizing.

Ever tried editing a Bitmap image on 2.0 editor? You can stretch it and flip it with the new Selector tool, and it is distorted cleanly and precisely. Just do it to see what I mean.

Which brings me back around. Why not be able to add to old 1.4 projects while making amazing 2.0 projects? After all, most images you can import from, let's say Google Images, will be Bitmap anyway. Why make such a major clash?

I love the old editor dearly and hate to see it vanish, but at the same time, Vector is cool and new and can bring a more professional look. Both have pros and cons. So why not keep both? It seems like it would keep closer to the spirit of Scratch and allow more freedom of style and improvement.

Hope somebody listens. Especially on the Scratch Team and even more especially those working on 2.0.

Thanks very much for your suggestion. We (on the Scratch Team) are working hard to improve the Paint Editor. For now, we're trying to make the vector tools easier to use and understand, and adding more bitmap features to the editor. (And, of course, we're continuing to fix bugs and glitches in the editor.)

In the future, we might consider two separate editors, as you suggest. But that might cause other types of confusions, especially for new users, who don't know the difference between vector and bitmap.

As we add (and modify) features in the Paint Editor, please continue to give us your feedback. We'll do our best to provide Scratch community members with tools they want and need for making great projects.
