New Front Page Bar—What the Community is Discussing
Here's what I see happening:
If you post a popular thread on the front page, you're advertising it to everyone. This increases chances of flame wars, and it's hard to have a discussion when there are 45 people putting different opinions on one thing, and the more people find it the more it will be at the top of the What the Community is Discussing bar.
Plus, the featured threads will be flooded with new scratchers asking their questions “how do I make a signature?” etc. Basically, one thread in the forum will become the forum for new scratchers who will have to be reminded to make their own thread.
no support.

I might also mention that the forums will follow the limit of ten days old or less, and collabs who don't want to be on the front page due to advertising could request to be taken off the front page the same way that you close a thread, by reporting it and explaining what you want to do. Here's what I see happening:

I guess I'll support.

How can you not hear of the forum after two years. It's the bug blue Discuss button always at the top!

I really prefer the forums “deserted.” When you post something in this case, you're advertising it to what, 1000+ people visiting the front page? Like voltage said, this would basically increase flame wars, and can possibly increase traffic to the forums, which may block up your connections to Discuss. And it would probably make New Scratchers post things like blockspams etc.

All you guys who are not supporting are overthinking this. If this isn't beneficial, then the Recently Shared section is even less benificial yet that's still on the front page. -___-

Alsoooo.. the whole traffic thing everyone is taking bout isn't true. Only a few posts will have traffic, and it while there would be a lot of people potetially starting flame wars, there would ALSO be a bunch of people reporting the bad things. Not all scratchers are flame war starters, some are stoppers. -___- All you guys who are not supporting are overthinking this. If you think about it. the people saying that they want the forums to be peaceful, are sorta being rude. Everyone deserves a chance to discuss and suggest things/features for the community.

1. What does this have to do with the recently shared projects? And that is beneficial, as it has to do with making unpopular projects popular. Since Scratch revolves around projects, and not the forums, I'd say that recently shared projects is more beneficial.Alsoooo.. the whole traffic thing everyone is taking bout isn't true. How is frontpaging a project for a matter of seconds make “unnoticed projects noticed”? Its funny that you think that.1. What does this have to do with the recently shared projects? If new scratchers are spamming, others will report it. Simple as that. New scratchers just need to learn. -___-
2. So you're saying we should let the new scratchers spam, because eventualky they'll learn their lesson after being reported? That's like saying we should let gunmen carry guns intosports stadiums, because once they shoot lots of people, they'll go to jail and learn their lesson.

1. I still think it is a good idea to scroll through them. Even if you don't find any good projects, there are still some projects in there that, while they might not be front-page worthy, took a while to make and deserve some sort of credit.1.Maybe you've seen a good project in it once or twice… but other people won't have the same set as you. My Ievan Polkka project got on the recently shared project section, and now it has 51 loves and 520 views. 1. Uh, most recently shared projects are a cat walking, that took 30 seconds to make. UNBENIFICIAL!

So that's unbeneficial? At least there must be something remotely good. I just looked through the RSP section and found three good CCs with no remixes whatsoever. In fact I might even join one of them.

No, but it is a high quality project, and that's how it got so popular. And if I can find that many “good” projects, surely it is of some use.1.
