Reincarnation philosphy
I had an interesting thought:
Suppose reincarnation exists, so that when you die, you will be reborn as another person in another time.
So say a person named Wes was born in 1996. Then he dies. he is reincarnated as Fredrick, who was also arbitrarily born in 1996. Therefore, Wes could see and interact with Fredrick even though they are the same person.
When Fredrick dies he could be reborn as Victoria, also born 1996. Victoria could see both Wes and Fredrick.
Therefore, perhaps every single person who is or was or will be alive was or will be you, and maybe you are the only person who is technically alive right now.
Or what if you're really playing some sort of computer program? When you die, you exit the program (like the matrix). Then you decide to go back inside the program, so it appears that you were reincarnated.
Also you can't prove that the world as we know it was not created last Thursday.
And you can't prove that I'm not God who has brainwashed Himself.

So we're basically the same person?
… If I die, I won't die at all!

Oh by the way, you can't prove anything outside your own thoughts and sensations exists.

We can't prove we exist then. It's all a dream. Oh by the way, you can't prove anything outside your own thoughts and sensations exists.
This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

TBH this ideas was in some sort of short story (“egg” maybe?) and everybody thought it was super interesting, but the whole thing has literally no repercussions. If you are everybody, but you do not effectively feel and understand these people at once, there's really no point in being considered the same person.

while this is all interesting and stuff, there is literally nothing to say that any of these theories are correct, it's all “what if”. so we should base our opinions and beliefs on the world around us and what we can actually interpret into a logical idea, not just what ifs. Oh by the way, you can't prove anything outside your own thoughts and sensations exists.

Actually I read a book about neuroscience/consciousness, while not focusing on it, tried to refute this at one pointyes we canWe can't prove we exist then. It's all a dream. Oh by the way, you can't prove anything outside your own thoughts and sensations exists.

I am not proposing theories - I am proposing unverifiable hypotheses. It's all very interesting to think about, but I am not trying to say a world-view based on these principles is valid.while this is all interesting and stuff, there is literally nothing to say that any of these theories are correct, it's all “what if”. so we should base our opinions and beliefs on the world around us and what we can actually interpret into a logical idea, not just what ifs.
