I'm going to be honest with you, you may want to start out with something a bit simpler. You sound like someone who looks for a challenge, and I like that, but maybe practice a little first so you can get an idea of how to fully take advantage of Scratch's features. Just a suggestion thoufg, and welcome to the community!

Thanks! yeah I think I will try something easer, the only reason I wanted a scrolling background was so I could make an animation of a stick guy walking. So it looks like he moving on his own.

What if you did “when touching edge and x>250 and y<180 and y>-180 then switch background to _____”..still a little challenging I guess. Why don't you FIRST do the animation, and then worry about the backdrops.
