"Siri" Like Voice Block
Hi,
I had a suggestion for an upcoming Scratch update, could you add a block that the user would type in a sentence(s) and you would have a option between certain voices and when you selected a voice, it would play a voice sample, some thing like,"Hello! I'm name!". Of course the name would be replaced with names like,
An example of the block is,
or, to continue along the script,
If you could consider this, that would be great!
Thanks,

Duplicate, and indiffirent. IMO, wouldn't really have any use.

Its an easy way to get voices in scratch without having to record them yourself. Take Google Translate, you can build of of something they have there. I'm going to Gooogle Pittsburgh in July so I,ll ask how they did that

Oh yeah! That…
Well, I guess it would be a good idea, rather than record it yourself…?

Totally Supporting. Microphones Work On Barely Any Computers Including Mine. With This Block I, And Many Other Scratchers Will Be Able To Make Characters In Our Projects Be Able To Talk Without A Mic. That's Pretty Nice Of You!

Speech recognition is quite a hard thing to write, and virtually impossible in Scratch. There are extensions, however if an Actionscript text-speech recognition was created, then we wouldn't have to leave the editor or get out a microphone. I know of text-speech recognition projects made in Scratch, but they are highly inaccurate, so support.

Semi-support, because if this gets implemented, the ST then has to create a text-to-speech engine, and not sure if it would 100% be worth their time…

That would have been useful for people without microphones but ST would have to implement a text-to-speech engine which is very time-consuming.

There could be ActionScript engines for that kind of thing avaliable. That would have been useful for people without microphones but ST would have to implement a text-to-speech engine which is very time-consuming.

I agree. Some people could use it, but there are lots of simpler workarounds. I really don't think this is worth the Scratch Teams time.

No support. fromtexttospeech.com or that other site that they use for illuminati-ish projects and other non-scratch-purpose things.
